Project on Assessment in Scotland - using Information Technology

BBC Scotland logoBBC Scotland will coordinate communications and provide bulletins and updates on the project to students, parents, teaching staff, assessment centres and the wider community. It will facilitate links between staff developing assessment materials and BBC Education online learning, as well as access to BBC archive online for resource materials.
LTScotland logoLearning and Teaching Scotland (LTS): LTS will co-ordinate learning technology support for the subject specialists who will develop the assessment, and technical support for centres participating in the pilot, including input into MIS issues. Advisory duties will include special assessment needs, National Grid for Learning strategy and the Scottish University for Industry.
Scrolla logoScottish Centre for Research into Online Learning and Assessment (SCROLLA): SCROLLA will be responsible for the development of the assessment technology, the production of the research report and communicating project outcomes to the Scottish software industry.
SFEU logoScottish Further Education Unit (SFEU): SFEU will manage the project and provide a steer on planning, piloting and finances. The unit will evaluate the project, disseminate findings and manage staff development and training activities.
SQAScottish Qualifications Authority (SQA): SQA will provide subject-based materials and co-ordinate subject-specific support for the project technologists and participating centres. Other co-ordination duties include quality assurance, liaison with the Scottish Executive, local authorities and the National Grid for Learning. Test specifications, question writing materials, classification systems and candidates' reporting will be developed through SQA's expertise in this area, as well as a strategy for wider implementation of the project.
